Pastor Cory Ishida was born in Alhambra, CA in 1947 to Nisei (second generation Japanese American) parents. He grew up in Pasadena, CA and graduated from UCLA with a degree in zoology. Cory has been married to his wife, Reine, since 1969. They have three married daughters and ten grandchildren. Cory was called as the senior pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles (Evergreen LA) in 1977. In 1997, he, along with 300 members of Evergreen LA, planted Evergreen Baptist Church of San Gabriel Valley (Evergreen SGV) located in La Puente, CA.

Benjamin C. Shin has served in the ministry as a pastor, parachurch leader, and professor for more than 20 years.  He is a graduate of UCLA, Talbot School of Theology, and Dallas Theological Seminary.  He enjoys reading, music, sports (especially the UCLA Bruins), and spending time with people.  His vision and passion includes mentoring leaders, re-building churches, and teaching the Word of God.  He is married to his bride, Jen and has 2 wonderful boys named Adam and Zachary.  He currently serves as Associate Professor of Bible Exposition and Director of the Asian-American Ministry track for the Doctor of Ministry at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA.

Jen Shin is married to Dr. Benjamin Shin for 10 years now. For 7 years of marriage, she had the privilege of serving as a pastor’s wife. She currently serves the alumni wives at Talbot School of Theology and mentoring women are her delights. Jen has a Liberal Studies degree from Long Beach State, California, and she relishes her time being home with her two boys: trustworthy Adam (almost 9 yrs. old) and inquisitive Zach (6 yrs. old). Jen and her family belong to the ministry of Young Nak Celebration Church. On her spare time, she loves meeting with people, talking about missions & posting Instagrams.

Dr. Russell’s areas of expertise are exegesis, hermeneutics, and New Testament theology, especially as they relate to world evangelism and the spiritual growth of the church. He has an extensive background in collegiate ministries, university teaching, and the pastorate, having planted two churches. He authored The Flesh/Spirit Conflict in Galatians and Playing with Fire: How the Bible Ignites Change in Your Soul. Dr. Russell has contributed articles to Bibliotheca Sacra, Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Grace Theological Journal, Westminster Theological Journal, Trinity Journal, and Christianity Today. His life themes are the primacy of the Great Commission in the life of the church, the renewal of the church through the development of dynamic community, and the strengthening of the church through vibrant teaching of the Scriptures.

Pastor Michael Lee is the senior pastor of Young Nak Celebration Church in Los Angeles.  He has served in the pastorate for 25 years and as a Bible college professor for 5 years.  He graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (D.Min.) and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.).  He is married to his true love, Mink, and together they have three children:  Karis, Kayla, and Nathan.  His family goal is to be the same person at home as he is in public.

Sheryl Takagi Silzer is a multicultural consultant with SIL International and Wycliffe Bible Translators. She leads Cultural Self Discovery workshops for multicultural teams for various mission agencies and multicultural churches. She also consults with individuals and organizations about how to improve their multicultural working together in order to reflect God’s image more clearly. Sheryl team teaches the Asian Church in American Society at Talbot School of Theology with Dr. Ben Shin. She is also a guest lecturer in their Asian American Doctor of Ministry Program. Her research has focused on the impact of Asian religions (Confucianism, Buddhism, Daoism) on Asian culture and Christianity. She and her husband Pete live in Monterey, CA. They have two married sons and five grandchildren.

DJ Chuang is a strategy consultant, resource hunter, people connector, and ideator. He current works on the launch team of the .BIBLE Registry, a new top-level domain for all things Bible. He also hosts the Social Media Church podcast for conversations with church leaders about social media. He’s worked with organizations like American Bible Society, Worship Leader Magazine, Leadership Network and L2 Foundation in leadership development and strategic usage of technology. He’s married, has a 17-year-old son, and lives in Orange County, California, and blogs at djchuang.com

Caleb serves as the Worship Pastor at Young Nak Celebration Church (YNCC).  For the past 15 years he has led worship, raised worship leaders and coached worship bands at YNCC.  Caleb is passionate about seeing worship leaders and teams in the local church grow in skill while grounded in Scripture.  Caleb is a graduate of UCLA, Cal State LA (M.A. in Music) and Fuller Theological Seminary (M. Div in Worship, Theology and Arts).  Caleb is married to his bride Katherin and they have two children, Jonah and Naomi.

Clark grew up in a non-Christian household in San Francisco, and was introduced to Christianity while attending a private Christian middle school. He came to faith in 2000 during a summer youth camp while attending Sunset Church. After graduating from UC Irvine, Clark began his studies at Talbot Theological Seminary, during which he served as a campus staff for KCM – Korean-American Campus Missions – as well being the Youth Pastor for three years at Pilgrim Evangelical Church. Clark graduated from Talbot with his Masters of Divinity in 2014, and returned to San Francisco to serve at his home church, Sunset Church, where he has been the Youth Pastor for the last two and a half years. He recently married his long-time college friend, and the two of them plan to eventually move overseas to plant churches amongst the unreached peoples of China.

Danny Roh has been serving in youth ministry since 1999. He graduated from Biola University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and received his M.Div. from Talbot School of Theology. Danny has a special heart for the youth in China and loves to travel the world (some highlights include spending a month each in Greece and Israel to study the lands of the Bible). In addition to traveling his other passions include sports, music and youth ministry.

Steve Kim is the director of the children ministry of Ttokamsa Mission Church in Los Angeles, CA. He has experience in illustrating and animating books and television series from the 80’s, which he uses to create a special learning environment for children in various age groups. He has a love for the ministry and faithfully served for 28 years. He led many ministry-building workshops in various countries, such as Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka and the U.S.

As a husband, father, pastor, or professor – Kevin Nguyen loves leadership. His personal life mission statement is “to assist those who assist the Kingdom”. After advancing his career through corporate management, he pursued his PhD in leadership and non-profit administration at Biola University. He currently serves as the lead pastor of the Irvine Campus of Saddleback Church. Kevin claims to be a Vietnamese-Texan. “I love both BBQ and Pho!” He is married to Hannah for 10 years and blessed with a 4-year old son, Khoi.

Tommy Dyo’s background ranged from being a ski patroller to a business consultant before going into full-time Christian work. In 1988 he started his service with Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) and has served as a campus minister as well as the
director of AACF for nearly ten years. He has also served as a consultant with the Asian American Leadership Center where he has been serving the Southeast Asian community to mobilize church planters, equip ministries, and network resources.

Since June 2006, Tommy has been serving Cru, as the National Executive Director of Epic Movement (Cru’s Asian American ministry). He leads a national strategy to reach Asian Americans college students and faculty.
